The Webster Town Board's 6:30 p.m. workshop Thursday, Oct. 1, is canceled. The board meets once that day, at 7:30 p.m. The posted agenda lists no public hearings.
The Webster Town Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1. The 6:30 p.m. workshop the same evening is canceled.
The posted meeting agenda lists eight items of regular town business: four resolutions and four routine approvals. It has no public hearings and no library item.
Fence license. One resolution would approve a license agreement for a 6-foot wooden privacy fence on Dawn Circle. The fence would sit on land where the town holds a stormwater drainage easement. The board approved two fence licenses in town drainage easements at its Aug. 20 meeting.
Snow and ice. Two resolutions would add funding to the town's snow and ice removal contract with the New York State Department of Transportation. One would cover the 2024-2025 season and the other the 2025-2026 season. The state transportation department says it pays municipalities that do snow and ice work on state highways through either a time-and-materials contract or a lump-sum agreement.
Police trailer. Another resolution would approve sending a 2002 Doolittle cargo trailer from the Police Department to auction.
Routine items. The board would also consider the minutes of its Sept. 17 workshop and meeting, bills, a prepaid warrant and purchase orders. The agenda says it is subject to change.
How to attend. The meeting is in the Town Board Meeting Room at 1002 Ridge Road. The room is behind the main Town Hall next to the Justice Courts, in the building with the blue roof. Open to the Floor, the public comment period, comes before regular business, and each speaker is allowed five minutes. The town has posted recent meetings on its YouTube channel, linked from the Agenda Center.
School tax. For a Webster Central School District tax bill paid to the town's receiver of taxes, the town's school tax legal notice says, "From September 1, through October 1, no interest is due if the total is paid in full."
Budget. The posted agenda has no item on the town's 2027 budget. For that, see the Ledger's explainer on Webster's 2027 preliminary budget.
The Ledger will report what the board decides. For Thursday, Oct. 15, the town calendar lists a 6:30 p.m. Town Board workshop and a 7:30 p.m. meeting. The board set a public hearing on the 2027 preliminary budget for that day at its Sept. 17 meeting.
